The Darlington Arts Festival Youth Art Exhibition is a colourful highlight of the festival weekend.  Vibrant painting and drawings, striking photographs, sculptures, textiles and jewellery adorn the Mezzanine level of Darlington Hall.  The exhibition showcases artworks from a cross section of talented youth.


Prizes shall be awarded in each category:

  • First Prize
  • Highly Commended

Winners will be announced during the festival proceedings

Art Categories

  • Painting  (including but not limited to oil, acrylic and watercolour)
  • Printmaking & Drawing (including but not limited to illustration, original prints on paper, typography, calligraphy and technical drawing)
  • Photography & Digital Art (including but not limited to photography, digitally manipulated artwork, neon work)
  • 3D (including but not limited to textiles, jewellery, stone work, glass work, ceramic art, woodwork & metalwork)

Other prizes include:

Best in Show
(the winner of Best in Show will not be eligible for a category prize)

Youth Art Encouragement Award (Bernadette Lee-Pitman Spring Award)
$250 Art Supplies sponsored by the Spring Family Trust

People’s Choice Award
Tallied from public votes over the weekend until 3pm Sunday 5th November. Winner receives $100 from the Mundaring Bicentennial Scholarship Trust.

Important dates

WORKS TO BE DELIVERED:  Monday 30th October 2017 
between 3 pm and 6 pm at the back of Darlington Hall, corner Owen Rd and Pine Terrace, Darlington


1. Late entries will not be accepted without prior notice.

2. Artworks over 1metre x 1metre square in size might not be displayed because of space restrictions.
