DAFYEP!

The Darlington Arts Festival Youth Engagement Program (DAFYEP!) offers a range of creative development opportunities for young people.

Participants develop their projects with established artists and learn new creative skills. Works from this program are created and/or exhibited during the Darlington Arts Festival.

This year we are seeking expressions of interest from artists to lead activities in jewellery-making, painting and drawing for youth aged 12-18. Workshops will be held in local schools or community buildings in the lead-up to the festival and/or onsite over the festival weekend (1-2 November 2025). 
 
Artists must:
– be confident engaging flexibly with teenagers in a youth-led context
– have the ability to teach a range of skills in a limited timeframe
– have a current working with children check 
 
The format, content and location of workshops are open for negotiation with the DAFYEP organisers. If you are interested in being considered for one of up to three roles, please send a copy of your CV, a brief summary of your proposed activity and your hourly rate to yep@darligntonartsfestival.com no later than Friday 16 May 2025.
